A Food Storage can be life saving in case of a natural disaster or you loose your job and can't afford food for awhile.
Providentliving.org has a great tool that allows you to make your own customized food storage. You can choose what foods you want to eat and how long you want your food storage to last (From 1 month - 3 years). You can also find information on how to store your food storage.
We used to have a 1 month food storage but we used it up and haven't replenished it yet. If you're on a tight budget like we are a very useful thing to do is just buy a couple of your food storage items each time you go to the grocery store.
